Boracay Island -- Taj Guesthouse

For many, Boracay Island is an expensive destination.  Most of the people I know thought that accommodations in the Big B are expensive and only for those who have money to spare.  But, this island is also for the ordinary people who want an extraordinary vacation.  In fact, there are many affordable accommodations in the island for backpackers, students and budget travelers.

who says food in Boracay is expensive?  this breakfast meal comes with coffee; only Php 75, just a few steps outside Taj Guesthouse
One of the budget-friendly accommodation in this island is the Taj Guesthouse.  It is located right at Station 2, where most of the events happen.  The main building of this guesthouse is just a two-minute walk right to the beach! They also have a new annex building which is a five-minute walk to the shore.  It is not just the location that drew me to this hostel. Taj also offers a very relaxing environment that could be compared to a high class hotel.  The rooms are elegant with its glass sliding doors, queen-size beds, LCD television and of course the unique decoration of its toilet and bath. The room we stayed normally costs Php 1500 per night (off peak season - we were three in the room).  I don't wanna share how much we paid for a 3-night stay, but we really got a great deal of a discount (relative 'works' there).

I was not able to get much photos of the room because I got so excited going there with my relatives.  However, you can see their rooms here and inquire.

PROS:
  • great location: Station 2! center of everything
  • airconditioned room, 32" LCD TV
  • very friendly staff
  • affordable
  • not noisy
  • wifi in the room

CONS:
  • no restaurant, but there are nearby sari-sari stores, food stalls and restaurants

VERDICT:  will definitely come back!

meet the world,
