Davao del Sur -- Digos City's Camp Sabros, Day 2

Day 1 of our Camp Sabros adventure is nowhere compared to what happened in Day 2. On the first day, we have tried the tandem zip line. It was already exciting and very frightening. However on the 2nd day, we tried the solo ride on the 820 meters zip line. The ride itself took not more than a minute, I guess. So imagine how fast the ride is. But what adds to the excitement is that the zip line is positioned higher from the ground. So much higher that you could see the trees below. You are a few meters above tall trees. While in the air, you can see the beauty of the place and feel the very cool air. We cannot help but scream so loud due to the adrenalin that we felt.
be sure to wear enough clothes for the cool weather!
In the package that we paid, we have ridden 3 zip line course, 1 cable car lift and we paid another for the treetop rappel. We also paid separately for the cottage we stayed on overnight and for our meals. There is no entrance fee in the area so you can do a picnic there. Just make sure that you will not leave any garbage.

The place provides a scenery of the majestic Mt. Apo. It is best to view the mountain early in the morning as there are still no clouds that might obstruct your view. What I like about the place most is the fresh and cool air. As early as 3pm, the place will become foggy. And the nights, oh so cool! A cup of hot chocolate or a few bottles of beer would be ideal. If you come in a group, you can also do some bonfire. There are several cottages in the area, make sure to reserve when you decide to stay overnight. You can also use your tent for a more realistic camping.
this sight will greet you in the morning
When going home, you could opt to walk from the camp up to the DENR check point where the van dropped you off. Along the way, you can see the vast farm area and landscape that would make you envious of the owner. The people in the camp are so good and considerate, you might want to give them a little token or simply buy them a bottle of beer. Oh, and this place was featured in the sports show Sports Unlimited, so you are guaranteed to be in a ride of your life.

How to go:

  • From the Ecoland Terminal in Davao City, take a bus bound for GenSan, this will have a stopover at Digos City
  • From the Digos Bus Terminal, ride a tricycle and ask to be brought to the old terminal
  • At the old terminal, walk and search for the van bound for Kapatagan. The locals there are very helpful and will point to you the van bound for Kapatagan. You can also ride a habal habal which will depart immediately
  • Ask the van driver to drop you off at the DENR Check Point. This is the check point for mountaineers going to Mt. Apo. Here, you can see a big signage on going to Camp Sabros which is on your right side.
Meet the world,
