Iligan City -- Mimbalot Falls

I recently reformatted my phone and while I browsed the files to be transferred to my hard drive, I came across the photos I have while visiting another falls in Iligan City. Aside from Ma. Cristina Falls and Tinago Falls, Iligan also has another majestic waterfall located in Barangay Buru-un, Mimbalot Falls.
there are rocks everywhere so be careful

Thursday

Davao City - Malagos Garden Resort

I have been hearing about Malagos Garden Resort for quite some time already. However, while I was living in Davao for two years, I was not able to drop by this place. Malagos is located at Calinan, Davao City. It is located a mere hour drive from downtown. It can be reached by a private vehicle or a public transportation.

Monday

Iligan City -- Ma. Cristina Falls

Last May, I went to Iligan City together with my long time college friend Vkai and her family. We planned to swim at Timoga Spring Pools and visit the famous Ma. Cristina Falls.

I have spent more than four years living in Iligan but I have only been to Ma. Cristina Falls twice. And just a few years ago, the place was developed for tourists with the opening of NPC Nature Park.

Sunday

Iligan City -- Timoga Spring Pools

One of my closest friend is home from the US and she and her parents want to visit the city of waterfalls, Iligan City.  I tagged along on the said trip.  The plan was to swim on the pools in Timoga and visit Maria Cristina Falls.  The day started early we left Elena Tower Inn, where we stayed for two nights, at around 7 AM .

I have lived in Iligan for the whole college years. But then I took college life so seriously that I was not able to explore this beautiful city. The farthest part I have been in the city is the series of spring pools in Timoga. Almost every acquaintance party and class outings were held here. I did not even get to visit the vicinity of the city hall where they said is amazing.

Thursday

Dapitan City -- Dakak Park and Beach Resort

I have been planning to go to Dakak last October 2, 2011.  But due to problems between the PAL Management and its employees, my Airphil Express flight to Cebu was delayed thus making me be left behind by another flight (another airline) to Dipolog City.  I never felt very dismayed though since I got the airline tickets at a very cheap promo fare.

Cagayan de Oro City -- Jatico Adventures

I have always wanted to go to other places to try different types of adventures. Good thing that my home city has its own, and near the city proper at that.  Jatico Adventures is located at Barangay Bayanga, Cagayan de Oro City. My friend and I went there not knowing how to.So we went to the tourism kiosk in Divisoria asking the in-charge there. We called up Jatico and they said that they will provide transportation for a minimal fee if you are in a group and you should arrange with them first. We decided to commute and went to the Talakag jeepney terminal in Carmen. People in CDO are generally friendly and helpful (being "City of Golden Friendship"), so all you have to do is ask politely and they are more than willing to assist you.

Davao del Sur -- Digos City's Camp Sabros, Day 1

Since the evolution of zip line in the Philippines, Camp Sabros has been on my must-try list. Before, Camp Sabros has the longest in the Philippines with its 820 meters zip line. The zipline is the main reason why I want to go to this place. I never thought that Camp Sabros has so much to offer that I want to live in the place hehehehe...

Davao del Sur -- Digos City's Camp Sabros, Day 2

Day 1 of our Camp Sabros adventure is nowhere compared to what happened in Day 2. On the first day, we have tried the tandem zip line. It was already exciting and very frightening. However on the 2nd day, we tried the solo ride on the 820 meters zip line. The ride itself took not more than a minute, I guess. So imagine how fast the ride is. But what adds to the excitement is that the zip line is positioned higher from the ground. So much higher that you could see the trees below. You are a few meters above tall trees. While in the air, you can see the beauty of the place and feel the very cool air. We cannot help but scream so loud due to the adrenalin that we felt.

Tuesday

Davao Oriental -- Cape San Agustin

It was all a sudden decision to travel.  One of my coworker really wanted to go to this place that is on the tip of the Philippines in the Southeastern part of Mindanao.  Being curious of the place, I tagged along, together with 7 more coworkers.  I never researched about the place prior to us going there.  After all, I just tagged along and I really never planned the event myself.

Friday

Jasaan, Misamis Oriental -- Sagpulon Falls

Aside from Agutayan Reef and White Island, another awesome spot you should not miss when going to the town of Jasaan in Misamis Oriental is the Sagpulon Falls. During the time we went there, I observed that the place is not anymore managed and somewhat abandoned. So we paid no entrance fee. From Agutayan Reef, we asked the bangka driver about the way to Sagpulon. He directed us to ride a jeepney and he told the driver to drop us off at the place where there are several habal-habal. We negotiated with the motorcycle driver and agreed that he will bring us to the falls and will pick us up at 4:30 pm. We were warned to leave the place before dark.

Sunday

Jasaan, Misamis Oriental -- Agutayan Reef and White Island

It was a surprise getaway for my birthday.  My friend Hazel organized it.  She told me to prepare one early morning and meet her at the Agora Bus Terminal in Cagayan de Oro City.  When I arrived at the bus terminal, the destination was revealed!  We were going to the town of Jasaan in Misamis Oriental.

Saturday

Malaybalay City - Kaamulan Grounds

Kaamulan is a famous festival in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon that happens around February to March every year. It is just appropriate to call a certain spot in the city after the famous festival. One of the beautiful spots to relax in Malaybalay is the Kaamulan Grounds. It is an open field full of pine and other trees. The pine trees make the place cool even on a sunny day.

Cagayan de Oro City - Mapawa Nature Park

This is officially my first adventure after I finished college. I was invited by an officemate to join a group who will try the river trekking in Mapawa Nature Park in Cagayan de Oro City. Though a true Kagay-anon, I never heard of the place before. I agreed to go on the said trip out of curiosity and to bond with my officemate. Mapawa Nature Park is located at barangay Cugman in CDO. It is located a few kilometers after the famous Malasag Eco Village. It can be reached by a private vehicle or by riding a motorcycle for hire (habal habal) from the highway.
